Data Deletion
Last updated: October 16, 2026
1. Delete it yourself, right now
Most data in GoatOS is yours to remove whenever you like, without asking us:
- Individual records — products, customers, suppliers, documents and other entries — can be deleted from their own pages in the app.
- Connected services: in Settings, under Integrations, you can disconnect any service you connected (for example a bank feed, QuickBooks, or a Meta (Facebook or Instagram) account). Disconnecting removes the connection and deletes the stored connection credentials from GoatOS. Records already synced into your company stay there until you delete them, or ask us to delete everything (below).
- Exports: before deleting, download what you need to keep — reports offer CSV downloads, and customers may export their data (see the Privacy Policy). Once data is deleted, we cannot bring it back.
2. Ask us to delete everything
There is no delete-everything button in GoatOS today. Closing a company and deleting all of its data is something we do for you, so it cannot happen by accident. The company owner can request it in writing, at the address in the Privacy Policy:
Goat Operating Systems, 22249 Township Road 704, Valleyview, Alberta, T0H 3N0, Canada.
Name your company and the email address on the owner account, so we can be sure the request comes from the owner. We confirm by email when the deletion is complete.
3. What gets deleted
A complete deletion removes, for that company:
- Account information for the people invited to the company: names, email addresses and login credentials.
- The company’s business data: products, recipes and production records, inventory, customers and suppliers, invoices, orders, financial records and uploaded documents.
- Data received through connected accounts, and the stored connection credentials themselves.
4. What the law says we must keep
Some records must be kept even after a deletion request. As the Privacy Policy puts it, deletion is subject to legal record-keeping requirements — for example, the tax and excise records a business must keep by law. Records the law requires are kept only for as long as it requires them.
This page explains the steps; sections 7 and 8 of the Privacy Policy are the governing text.
